The Neverending Story, ET: The Extra-Terrestrial, Firestarter, The Color Purple, Romancing The Stone, The Women Of Brewster Place. These are just a few of the movies that inspired Danette Wilson to pursue acting at a very early age.
After spending years in the theater department and obtaining her B.A. degree from Grambling State University and working in television production, she relocated to Los Angeles to make her childhood dreams a reality.
Her film credits include Exit Strategy, The Gray Man, The People Outside and Desi Holiday. TV Credits most recently include Bob's Burgers for FOX, Dead To Me for Netflix, as well as roles on Criminal Minds, The Young & the Restless, Vegas, for CBS and a series regular role in the pilot, BAD GUYS, for the NBC Playground Competition. Among her web series credits is Star Thieves, an original Sci-Fi project that screened at ComiCon LA. Her stage work includes memorable performances in For Colored Girls...Who Have Considered Suicide When The Rainbow Is Enuf, Little Shop of Horrors, and Beehive, to name a few.
She has even lent her vocals to sing back-up, live in concert with world famous Michael Buble'.
A true team player and lover of filmmaking, she has found that there are also many opportunities for someone highly organized, motivated with great people skills behind the camera also. In addition to having a featured role in the film, Exit Strategy, she was also the Assistant Producer for the hilarious romantic comedy, featuring Kevin Hart that opened in theaters across the country, Manson Family Vacation produced by Jay (Transparent, Room 104) & Mark Duplass (The Morning Show, Bombshell). She is Co-Producer/UPM of the ABFF/HBO Award Winning short film, MUTED. Her experience in filmmaking has further been honed by contributing to several other features, shorts and music videos as Production Manager.
A natural ability to interpret material and make each character her own is not enough. Having excellent training is a must. She currently studies at Stan Kirsch Studios.
Her overall goal is to be a vessel for creative expression through acting, producing and writing. She strongly believes that storytelling plays an essential part in uniting us as people. Everyone has a story to tell and everyone's story deserves to be told.
